SOLOLIFT2

Overview

Overview

SOLOLIFT2 is a unique range of compact lifting stations enableing a drain of any domestic sanitary appliance wherever needed, independent from the gravity drain system. The units collect and pump the wastewater through a thin pressure pipe (>23mm) to the next down pipe – up to 6m high or 100m distance.

An extra toilet or a complete bathroom in attic or basement must be no longer only a wish with SOLOLIFT2.

The range consists of 5 compact lifting station variants for disposal of domestic wastewater.

3 units, called WC-1, WC-3 and CWC-3, are designed to take wastewater from a toilet and further sanitary appliances.

2 units, called C-2 and D-2, are designed to take grey wastewater from several objects.

The numbers indicates how many additional inlet connections are possible.

SOLOLIFT2 is designed according to the needs of professionals – high reliability and easy, clean service in mind.

The units come ready to use with a plug and operate full automatic when water enters the tank.

Application

Wherever the drain of a sanitary appliance is required but no gravity drain pipe is available or possible. The units with a WC connection are dedicated to installation in private homes only. Other units can be utilized also for commercial application.

WC-1, WC-3 and CWC-3 are designed to take the wastewater of up to 1 toilet, 1 washbasin, 1 shower and 1 bidet.
CWC-3 is the extra slim variant, designed to be integrated in front-wall installation.

C-3 and D-2 are designed to remove the (hot) wastewater from a bath, shower, washbasin, sink, washing machine and dishwasher.

Their compact measurement enables the integration in front-wall installation and floor units.

Information and Advice

Grundfos is a world-wide provider of pumps and related systems. We have a trained staff of service engineers who will be able to support you during the installation phase of the pump or solution. Grundfos supplies high-quality products, but to maintain a long life of the product or the system we have many years of experience in different kinds of installations and have achieved good practice in installation techniques.

We will be able to support you with the following:

  • Information about the proper protection of our pumps
  • Physical placement of the pump to maintain necessary service/repair
  • Physical placement of the pump to maintain proper operation
  • Correct cabling to fulfil the requirements of good practice and Electro Magnetic Compliance

Do not hesitate to contact your local Grundfos company to obtain full support for your new installation.

Commissioning

To achieve optimum performance and operating condition it is very important that the Product/System is set up and adjusted correctly from the start. The knowledge and experience of the Grundfos service technician, and the use of dedicated Grundfos service tools to adjust the performance of the pump, together guarantee that the greatest possible efficiency and fully correct operation of the equipment are both achieved. Commissioning of the pump is recommended for the following applications:

  • If the pumps are controlled by a frequency converter
  • If the pump system is operating in large systems, e.g. a building management system
  • If the user wants to be trained in the proper operation of the pump
  • If the pump must not be a missing link in an important production/application facility
  • Where the setup is crucial for the Grundfos product to operate for its full planned life, e.g. in water treatment applications. In such cases commissioning is not only recommended but required
  • Where safety is an issue e.g. disinfection system

The commissioning is performed in a step by step procedure, and a report of the settings of the pump is produced.

Do not hesitate to contact your local Grundfos company to arrange for the commissioning of your newly-installed Grundfos product.

Recommended spare parts

Even though the Grundfos strategy is to supply the best possible pump solutions to our customers, after a long period of operation there will be wear and tear to some of the components in certain situations. If short operating downtime is a requirement, or if the pump is installed in inaccessible areas where delivery of spare parts may take a long time, it is advisable to maintain a small stock of recommended spare parts on site. Do not hesitate to contact your local Grundfos company to obtain information about recommended spare parts or service kits for your Grundfos product.

Optimisation

Grundfos offers an efficiency analysis of your existing pump system, providing you with suggestions for increasing efficiency and thus for achieving cost savings over time.

Increase the efficiency of your existing system

Conducting an Efficiency Analysis of your existing pump system provides you with a basis for increasing efficiency, with cost savings over time. An Efficiency Analysis results in suggestions for doing this and will show how this will save you money.

Grundfos offers the following levels of analysis for assessing the efficiency of your pump system:

  • Installed base checks

A minor evaluation is conducted based only on the data from the identification plate on the pump compared with the newer, more efficient technology and materials found in modern pumps.

  • Pump efficiency quick check

Pressure and kWh consumption of the pump are measured. Flow is estimated on the basis of available pump data and the results of the measurements.

Some of the resulting suggestions for improving efficiency might include a speed control upgrade, a motor upgrade, differently dimensioned pipes, the installation of a controller, or perhaps an agreement for routine service.

Complete Pump Audit

The efficiency analysis offered by Grundfos makes up the first step in our Pump Audit, a diagnostics tool that we use to check whether the pump system is operating at the optimal energy consumption to guarantee that your costs are kept to an absolute minimum – now and in the future. See "Replacement analysis" to find out more about the Grundfos Pump Audit.

Service Agreement

A Grundfos Service Agreement ensures efficient and uninterrupted operation of your pump system and gives you access to Grundfos Service Centres and authorised Service Partners worldwide, 24 hours a day.

Prevention is better and more cost-effective, than cure

Once you have purchased your pump, you will want it to function efficiently and reliably; a formal service agreement with Grundfos will give you peace of mind. It also makes sound economic sense, giving you a firm costing for your maintenance budget and access to substantial discounts.

You simply combine a range of service programmes to suit your needs – and then let us carry out scheduled maintenance visits to prevent downtime. We offer three types of service agreement, available for all pumps:

  • Basic
  • Extended
  • Total

Whichever you choose, you will be serviced by specially trained staff at all times.

The cost effective choice

Well-maintained pumps can reduce your energy consumption by up to 50% and in a series of pumps working together one faulty pump can affect all the others. A Grundfos Service Agreement keeps your total cost of owning a pump at a minimum, because our careful consideration of the Life- Cycle Cost of all our products means that we have control over the real costs of ownership of our pumps.

Signing up for a service agreement and letting our highly-skilled service technicians service your pumps is a safeguard against unforeseen expenditure. Regular servicing and maintenance of your pumps will ensure that they operate with optimum efficiency.

Repair and maintenance

Grundfos Service will maintain and repair your pumps. Our service professionals can also advise you on efficiency issues, offering suggestions for saving money in the long term.

Repair and maintenance of your existing pumps system

Of course, you can always call Grundfos for repair and maintenance of pumps you have purchased from us. Grundfos can repair your pumps to the same specifications as new. However, it is important to remember that an upgrade or even a replacement pump can be cheaper than repair in the long term. See "Upgrades and Replacement" for how this makes good business sense.

Effective service – wherever you are

Grundfos Service is always close by. Together with our local authorised service partners, we offer worldwide service, and help from qualified pump professionals is never far away, whether you need immediate assistance or you are interested in hearing about your savings possibilities.

GRM

Grundfos Remote Management is a cost-effective, secure and reliable way to monitor and manage pump installations from an Internet PC at a very low cost.

Connecting pumps and people

With a secure and reliable remote management system, you can monitor and manage your pump systems from an Internet PC at a very low price.

Grundfos Remote Management is a cost-effective and straightforward system for monitoring and managing pump installations in commercial buildings and in water supply and wastewater systems. It reduces the need for onsite inspections, and in the event of an alarm or warning, the relevant people are notified directly.

Compared with mobile phone-based monitoring, the system offers a wider range of benefits and functionalities. For those who do not require remote process automation, Grundfos Remote Management is the ideal solution for monitoring and remote control, rather than traditional SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Initial investment is minimal, and a fixed low fee covers data traffic, hosting costs and system support, including back-up of all data.

Efficient alarm management

Via its on-call schedule, this new telemetry system ensures that alarms from onsite controllers go directly to the relevant people. From a PC anywhere, the system manager can log on and plan who is to receive alarm messages from each installation at any given time of the day. Managers can plan years ahead and easily handle daily exceptions to the schedule.

Optimise service and maintenance

Changes in pump performance can be tracked using trend graphs automatically generated by the system. This can give an indication of wear or damage in the installation, and service and maintenance can be planned accordingly.

The communication interface (the CIU271 modem) enables data transmission via GPRS/SMS from your Grundfos pumps and controllers. The built-in multi-purpose I/O board allows you to connect sensors and switches

Replacement

Replacement

Grundfos Pump Audit is our replacement analysis and is a complete diagnostic tool, focusing on your facility, your system’s energy efficiency, your pumping solutions total Life-Cycle Costs, and detailed recommendations for replacement and pay-back time.

Let our Pump Audit tell you how to save on energy costs

The Grundfos Pump Audit is a comprehensive check up of your pump system. It measures flow, pressure, power absorbed, and overall efficiency of the pumps you have installed over a given period, and highlights how much energy you could save by switching to more efficient pumps and motors.

The process starts with the Pump Audit team visiting your facility and listening to your description of your requirements, with the aim of ensuring the best possible definition of the task ahead. The next step is a comprehensive on-site visual inspection of your facility. This includes inspection of the operating environment, pumps, valves and line drawings.

CAPS

The purpose of CAPS is to provide a complete tool that contains both an extensive catalogue of Grundfos products and a sizing program to select the most suitable pump for your application.

On top of that there is a comprehensive pump replacement function for central heating circulating, hot water pumps and the wastewater S pumps and the possibility of producing professional quotations including curves, drawings, quotation texts, wiring diagrams etc.

Last but not least, the software contains the instruction and operating manuals for nearly all Grundfos pumps in multiple languages. Service drawings, exploded views and parts lists are available for all sewage products as well as several other pump types.

CAPS is available in two versions: WinCAPS is available on a CD-ROM and the online version called WebCAPS is available at the Grundfos website - www.grundfos.com. Additional features in WebCAPS include CAD Drawings and Literature.
